About Maxx

Click apply to start the adoption process. Maxx is a two-year-old Chihuahua mix who has overcome a difficult start in life. Rescued from a situation where many dogs had to share scarce resources, Maxx arrived extremely underweight and suffered from a flare-up of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Thanks to careful care and treatment, he is now thriving and remains a cheerful pup. To ensure his ongoing wellbeing, Maxx needs a bland diet and may require a steroid twice a week for life, which he is currently tolerating well. He gets along nicely with other dogs and is house trained, though he is also comfortable using potty pads if necessary. Maxx would do best in a calmer home without young children, as their energy can be overwhelming for him. He should be comfortable with respectful children aged 12 and up, making him a great fit for families with older kids or adults looking for a loving companion. As a fun astrological fact, Maxx is a Leo, known for loyalty and a warm heart—a perfect reflection of his personality! They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
