SATURDAY, JAN. 31 from 12-3PM: DOG ADOPTION EVENT at PETSMART in Olathe (119th & Strang Line) with Heart of America Humane Society. We’ll have several wonderful dogs there looking for homes! ——————— RAMSEY is a pretty Border Collie mix. He’s a very shy guy, but he's so gentle and sweet natured. Ramsey has had a hard life, sharing an outdoor pen with several other Border Collie mixes. They had only one small doghouse that was not nearly big enough to shelter multiple dogs. Ramsey will need a loving and patient home with someone committed to socializing him and helping him gain confidence. He would really benefit from having a social dog in his new home to help show him the way and learn to trust. One of his sisters is in a foster home now and she's doing so well! Ramsey is scared to walk on a leash at this point and will only go for a short distance, so he'll need work in that area. Ramsey is 2 years old and he weighs 43 lbs. Sadly, Ramsey tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Ramsey will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions! ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
