🌟 Meet Checkers, a charming little furball who’s ready to steal your heart! Abandoned at just 4 months old in lovely Norwalk, California, Checkers has a tale that’ll tug at your heartstrings. Just think about it—a family who didn’t want to spend on boarding during their vacation left this little guy to fend for himself! 😢 Luckily, a wonderful rescue friend swooped in to save the day. Checkers was living outside since he was only 8 weeks old, without the proper care, love, or even a good grooming. But fear not, because fate brought him into the loving hands of Jolynne Flores, our brilliant marketing advisor, who recognized this bundle of joy and decided to foster him—and even named him Checkers! 🎉 He came to us in mid-November 2025, bringing with him an irresistible spirit that you just have to see to believe! At just 6 months, Checkers is bursting with energy and playfulness. His best buddy is Trecks, a 4-year-old female Chihuahua who’s a bit of a zoomie expert! 🏃💨 Together, they chase each other around, giggling and frolicking like puppies do! Despite his rocky start, Checkers is learning all about the joys of puppy behavior and how to play, thanks to Trecks. And even though he’s eager to be friends with Jolynne's cat, let’s just say the feline is not having it! 😂 Now fully vaccinated, Checkers is ready to embark on outdoor adventures with a leash in tow. While he’s still dealing with a bit of puppy car sickness (which he'll outgrow), he’s fully potty trained and snuggles up in bed with Jolynne and Trecks—because who doesn’t love a cuddle buddy? 💤❤️ He’s crate trained too, although let’s be honest, he’d rather be out playing! Checkers will be ready for his forever home on February 1st, 2026, and he’s just waiting for that special someone or couple who can give him all the love and attention he so deserves. He would thrive in a home where there’s already a fun-loving dog aged 5 to 6 who is ready for a little brother! 🐶💞 This little bundle of joy is about 14 pounds and is microchipped, heartworm negative, and has received the safest rabies vaccine on the market.
