About Sonny
Sonny is a cheerful Shih Tzu mix who brings joy wherever he goes. At 11 and a half years old, he’s seen a lot but still has plenty of spirit left, greeting everyone—human or canine—with an open heart and a wagging tail. Weighing roughly 15 pounds, Sonny’s living with diabetes, but he’s calm during his twice-daily insulin injections and his overall health is strong. House trained and quick to adapt, Sonny fit right in with his foster’s routine, including with a new baby in the home. He enjoys interacting with other dogs, loves a good play session with toys, but his favorite spot is curled up next to you on the couch. Sonny spends his days accompanying his foster mom to work at a pet clinic, yet he’s comfortable being alone for a few hours if needed. He does well in a crate overnight but prefers not to be crated during the day. Sonny doesn’t do well with cats—he’s a chaser. If you want an affectionate companion who’s easy-going and sweet, Sonny would love the chance to join your family. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
