About Dory

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Get ready to welcome a bundle of energy and cheer into your heart—Dory is certain to bring a spark of fun to your home! At just 5 months old and weighing 8 pounds, this small Chihuahua mix is playful, quick, and always ready for an adventure. Her early life included a healed injury to her front wrist; she sometimes has a little limp, but she doesn’t let it slow her down and no further medical care is needed. Dory adores wrestling, running, and goofing around with other dogs—especially if they are her size—or playfully pestering bigger companions with her loving kisses and playful antics. This smart girl picks up on everything, understands boundaries, and prefers chew toys over household items. Dory thrives in a home with a doggy playmate—she would not be happy as a single pet, as she needs company and entertainment. She is potty trained (though may need reminders if not let out frequently), crate trained, but truly wants to spend her time close by your side. Roxxy's K-9 Rescue ensures all their fosters, including Dory, are spayed/neutered, up to date on appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm tested, and kept current on preventatives. Each dog is raised in a loving foster home to prepare for their forever family, with medical records provided upon adoption and transport available across the U.S. Your patience is appreciated as this volunteer-led rescue responds to inquiries! Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Dory

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Chihuahuas and their mixes are typically happiest in homes where they can be close to their people. They adapt well to small apartments as well as houses, so long as they have warmth, companionship, and enrichment.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Chihuahua mixes generally do well with regular walks and playtime but do not require large yards. Secure, fenced areas or enjoyable walks on a leash are ideal for them.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Chihuahuas can do well with gentle, respectful children, but due to their small size, supervision is always needed to prevent accidental injury.
