Bowie came to us as a semi-feral kitty, having spent much of his life in a hoarding situation without the love and stability every cat deserves. With time, patience, and plenty of treats, Bowie has made incredible progress and blossomed into a friendly—though still a bit shy—gentleman. One of Bowie's most endearing quirks? Despite being 61⁄2 years old, he has the tiny, kitten-like meows you'll hear whenever he wants attention or food. It's impossible not to smile when he pipes up. He's also a fairly petite male, which only adds to his gentle, sweet presence. Winning Bowie's trust is truly a matter of patience, canned food, and a gentle touch. He's very food-motivated, and sharing a tasty meal is the fastest way to his heart. Move slowly and let him set the pace—once Bowie feels safe and comfortable, he'll happily lean into affection and reward you by making lots and lots of biscuits, a sure sign that you've become one of his trusted people. Bowie truly enjoys being petted once he gets to know his humans and would thrive in a quiet, calm household where he can continue building confidence. He has lived with several other cats and small dogs in the past, as sadly he came from a hoarding situation. He would do well with laid-back, respectful cats, or he could be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. Bowie may not be young or overly outgoing, but he is a genuinely nice, gentle soul with so much love to give. After spending his life in unsavory conditions, he deserves nothing less than a safe, peaceful home and a family willing to give him the time he needs.
