JJ… our full-time leg accessory (now in limited edition) JJ wandered into our lives early this summer as a stray, and somehow… no one came looking for him. Which is wild, because he’s about 35-40lbs of pure cuteness, young (maybe 1–2 years old), and has that adorable terrier-mix look that usually gets adopted before the post even finishes uploading. He checks all the good-boy boxes: sweet happy-go-lucky eager to please always smiling certified good boy HOWEVER. JJ comes with one very important disclosure. When JJ likes you (which is immediately)… he attaches himself to your leg like a fuzzy ankle monitor. No leash. No consent form. No personal space. One minute you’re strolling through the play yard… the next minute you’re doing a slow, awkward shuffle because JJ has decided you are his emotional support human AND his ride. We often say: “You don’t walk across the yard… JJ takes you with him.” He’s scheduled to be neutered, and we’re hopeful that will help reduce his enthusiasm for competitive leg-humping. Because of this, we’re currently recommending older children—we’d prefer giggles over surprise ankle ambushes In all seriousness, JJ isn’t being naughty. He’s just over-the-top affectionate, a little unsure, and desperately wants to belong. We truly believe that once he’s out of the shelter, settled into a home, and living his best couch-dog life, this phase will fade faster than your personal space did in the play yard.
