About Onyx

Onyx lost her owner, and after her caregiver also passed away, she and a few dog friends were left to fend for themselves for over half a year. When found, Onyx had just given birth under a shed at the start of winter. It took a quick rescue effort to save her and her puppies, who all came down with parvo soon after. All but one of her pups survived, and Onyx herself is now healthy, spayed, and ready for adoption. Mentally, Onyx is still working through her past. She is not aggressive but will need time to trust new people and places—she tends to bolt when scared, so early patience and caution are important. She’s a 50 lb lab mix who gets along well with other dogs and eventually warms up to people, showing her sweet nature once relaxed. A quiet, stable household with an understanding family will give her the best chance to thrive.
