🐾 Meet Edgar - A Gentle Soul in Need of a Special Home 🐾 This is Edgar. 💙 A sweet, 2 1⁄2-year-old Pit Bull with a heart full of love and a story that tugs at ours. Edgar came to us from a neglect case, but you'd never know it from his spirit. He loves people, craves affection, and gives nothing but love in return. He's playful, loyal, and melts into your lap like he was meant to be there all along. Sadly, like many pit bulls, Edgar has struggled to be seen in the shelter. The stigma around his breed keeps adopters at bay, but Edgar is here to prove it wrong. He's not just friendly--he's a gentle soul, full of patience and affection. 🐶 Edgar can be dog selective and needs a home with no cats. 💉 He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm/Lyme negative. 🩺 Edgar's Medical Needs A couple of months ago, Edgar began having fainting episodes. We acted quickly--first visiting our local vet, then seeking a second opinion. A heart murmur was suspected, and he was started on Vetmedin, a heart medication. The episodes stopped. Later, a traveling cardiologist performed a full heart workup and found no structural issues. We were advised to discontinue Vetmedin. Sadly, the faint spells returned. Once the medication was restarted, Edgar bounced back and has been doing wonderfully ever since. 💊 Vetmedin works for Edgar, and we believe it's key to his well-being, but it can be a monthly expense due to his size. We are doing everything we can for him--but what Edgar truly needs now is a loving home that can support his special needs. ✨ Edgar is more than his diagnosis.
