Bessy came into rescue under tough circumstances—she nearly lost her life after being misjudged at the shelter, where staff saw neurological symptoms and a heart murmur and assumed the worst. The truth was far more hopeful: those symptoms likely came from being beaten before her arrival, and with proper care and affection, Bessy has recovered beautifully. Since joining her rescue, Bessy has been spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and is cleared for adoption. She’s transformed into a bright, affectionate dog who loves her people and enjoys canine friends. True to her boxer mix roots, Bessy’s playful, goofy, and happy whether she’s chasing toys or snuggling close by. She’s got medium energy—you’ll see her entertain herself with silly antics or join you for a good cuddle session. Her one challenge is some reactivity on walks, especially with squirrels and quick outdoor distractions. She manages well with a basket muzzle for outings, allowing safe and comfortable walks even in busy environments.
