About Rocky

Meet Rocky 💙 — A Resilient, Goofy Genius Ready for His Forever Home Rocky is currently fostered in Morris County, NJ. He is available for out of state/out of area adoption to the perfect forever home! Transportation to his forever home will be coordinated by our rescue. ____ Rocky is the definition of a glow-up story. Rescued from a life of neglect where he wasn’t properly cared for or even consistently fed, this sweet boy has done nothing but rise above it all. Thanks to a loving foster home, Rocky is now thriving, full of joy, and ready for the forever family he’s always deserved. This handsome, GOOFY boy is believed to be a German Shepherd / Border Collie mix. He weighs about 50–60 pounds, and has just turned one year old (Happy birthday, Rocky!). He is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and absolutely hilarious — the kind of dog who keeps everyone around him laughing and smiling with his personality. He’s a happy-go-lucky, playful young dog with a goofy streak that steals hearts instantly. He’s dopey in the best way, wildly entertaining, and incredibly intelligent. He loves being outside, tossing around squeaky toys, chewing on Nyla bones, and finding fun ways to entertain himself — especially when another dog is involved. Rocky absolutely loves his foster sister and is at his happiest when he has another fun-loving dog to wrestle, chase, and play with. He’s great with dogs who enjoy an energetic play style, and despite all that excitement, he’s a total big baby who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Friendly and social to the core, we would LOVE to find a home for Rocky with another playful canine companion. At home, Rocky is a total superstar: * ✔️ Fully house trained * ✔️ Very well crate trained (quiet as a mouse!) * ✔️ Comfortable with handling and daily routines * ✔️ Extremely smart and learns quickly with consistency Rocky is continuing to work on his young-dog skills and is doing wonderfully. He’s currently working on recall with his awesome foster mom and making excellent progress — a true testament to his intelligence. He is also improving on leash manners every day; while he can get excited and pull, structured training has already made a big difference. Rocky greets new people happily and warms up quickly. He hasn’t yet been exposed to children or cats, so those interactions are currently unknown. Rocky’s ideal forever home includes: -A fenced-in yard for safe play and zoomies -A dog companion who loves to play and can match his energy -An active, structured home that enjoys training and enrichment and adventures! -Someone who appreciates a resilient, goofy, incredibly smart “big baby” of a dog Rocky has already overcome so much and somehow came out the other side joyful, silly, and full of life. He’s the kind of dog who will make your home louder, funnier, and happier — and he’s ready to share that joy with a family who truly understands him. If you’re looking for a playful best friend for your dog, a smart pup who loves to learn, and a goofy soul who means no harm — Rocky is your guy 🐾💙 +++++++ ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application +++++++ The Truth About Rescue: Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued. +++++++ Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com. Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
