Meet Kane - Our Stubborn, Sweet "Grandpa" Looking for His Retirement Couch Kane is an older fella, estimated to be around 7 years old, and he's officially on the hunt for his retirement home. He came to us as a stray, and although we located his owners, they chose to surrender him. Now it's our turn to help him find the forever family he truly deserves. At about 70 pounds (with a few extra he could stand to lose), Kane has all the charm of a stubborn grandpa. He knows what he likes, and what he likes is simple: go outside, take care of business, and then head right back to lounging. If you've been dreaming of a couch potato companion, Kane might be your guy. A few things to know about him: He doesn't seem to mind cats. We'll be testing him with dogs soon, but early signs suggest he's friendly. He's a bit set in his ways on walks, but that's part of his endearing grandpa energy. He's up to date on vaccines and will be scheduled for neuter. He has a couple of small new bald spots we're treating-likely just stress from the transition. He hasn't had his blood test yet (needles are scary!), but we'll be completing that soon to check for heartworm, Lyme, and other tick‐borne diseases. Whatever the results, we'll make sure he gets the care he needs. Shelter life is no place for an older gentleman like Kane.
