MEET HERCULES – A SUNDAY SERVICE SOUL LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME On July 6, 2023, a gentle soul named Hercules found himself simply trying to do what everyone else inside the church was doing—attend Sunday Service. Drawn by open doors, warmth, and the comfort of people gathered together, Hercules quietly made his way inside a church in Katy, Texas. He wasn’t causing trouble or looking for mischief. He only wanted to be part of the service, to belong, and to feel the peace that comes from being surrounded by kindness. Instead, his presence caused quite a stir. Animal Control was called, and while Hercules had no idea why there was so much commotion around him, he gladly soaked up the attention he so desperately needed. That brief moment of connection was followed by a heartbreaking turn, as he was taken to a high‑kill shelter. No one came to claim him. Despite his gentle nature and calm demeanor, Hercules was placed on the euthanasia list. But fate—and a few determined humans—had other plans. Volunteers and members of the public who met Hercules saw exactly who he was: a loving, soulful dog who had wandered into a church not for chaos, but for comfort. Refusing to let his life end that way, they pleaded with us at Hoardin Huskies to save him—and we said yes without hesitation. Hercules has been with us ever since, and he has flourished. He’s received training, does well with other dogs, and forms deep bonds with his people. When Hercules loves, he loves hard. All he wants is to be close to his person, sharing life side by side. Around 65 pounds and estimated to be 5 years old, Hercules is heartworm negative, fully leash, crate, and potty trained. But beyond all of that, Hercules is pure love in dog form—a boy who once walked into a church seeking peace and connection, and who is still waiting for the forever home he so deeply deserves.
