About Shadow

1 year old Shadow’s Story!! Shadow came into our lives by chance — or maybe by fate. The founder of HH was casually scrolling Facebook Marketplace, searching for antiques, when one post stopped her cold. In South Carolina, a family was giving away a young, beautiful dog for free. In an area where “free” dogs often face unthinkable outcomes, alarm bells rang immediately. This wasn’t something that could be ignored. Without hesitation, HH reached out and hit the road. There was no waiting, no second-guessing — just the urgent need to get to this sweet boy before someone with the wrong intentions did. The family said they were moving and had nowhere for him to go. Later, we learned the truth. The move was an excuse. Shadow wasn’t wanted anymore. He had outgrown the tiny puppy stage, and the lifelong responsibility of loving a dog no longer fit their plans. But we weren’t going to let Shadow’s life end in hardship because someone else gave up. From the moment he arrived, it was clear who Shadow really is — a dog who brings sunshine wherever he goes. He’s playful, goofy, affectionate, and full of joy. He greets each day like it’s an adventure waiting to happen. Whether he’s romping around outside with dog friends big or small, exploring new places, or soaking up love from adults and children alike, Shadow lives with his whole heart. The outdoors is his happy place. He thrives on movement, curiosity, and connection, making him a perfect match for an active family who enjoys being outside. Yet at the end of the day, he’s just as happy leaning into cuddles, flashing that big, silly smile, and reminding you how good it feels to be loved. Shadow has already known what it feels like to be discarded — and still, he loves without hesitation. If you open your heart to Shadow, he won’t just be your dog. He’ll give you his whole world. Fully vetted and neutered Heartworm negative Great with other dogs Can coexist with a cat Doing good with potty training but will need a transition period as all do. Sweet, social, and people-loving Playful, curious, and full of life Shadow’s story isn’t about what he lost — it’s about what he’s ready to give. Can you give Shadow a home where he never fears of being thrown out again like he didn't matter.
