About Josie
Josie is a 13-year-old West Highland White Terrier who was surrendered by her previous owner at a vulnerable point in her life. Despite these recent losses, Josie’s spirit has not faded. This senior Westie is currently working through several health hurdles: her eyes need ongoing care due to very little tear production, both ears are being treated for infections, and her coat is mending from a stubborn yeast and bacterial skin issue. She also faces anemia and the daily stiffness that comes with spondylosis, a spine condition not uncommon in older dogs. Josie is understandably tired from all she has been through, yet now she is safe and surrounded by people helping her heal. Josie gets along with other dogs and is good with children, but she does not get along with cats. She is not yet house trained. She’s being fostered by a network of dedicated homes in California.
