About Annie
Southern Arizona folks are surely familiar with Apple Annieโs, a you-pick orchard and farm popular with friends and families looking for a delicious, wholesome day trip. Anyone can tell you that you canโt pick apples in December, or pumpkins in March; everything has a time and a season. Much like fruit and veggies in nature, pups and people have their own timeline for acclimating to new environments and gaining comfort and confidence in new settings. We have a very special girl named Annie who is looking for a family who knows that good things come to those who wait! Hereโs what some of Annieโs volunteer friends had to say: โAnnie is very well behaved, easy to leash, and walks very well with no pulling. She doesnโt show any reactivity to dogs passing by or in other kennels. Annie is still very nervous in the shelter environment, but over time she began to come round, circling closer and closer. For our first outing today we just let her sniff around the yard, which she was perfectly happy to do. This is one very sweet, very good girl who just needs time to adjust.โ โAnnie was nervous in the kennel, but she was easy to leash. She walked well past her noisy neighbors without any reactivity. Her outgoing kennelmate really helped Annie open up. She came by and sniffed me a few times. On our second date, she even wagged her tail a bit. What a sweet girl!โ Annie is hoping for a home with an understanding, patient family who will give her time to decompress from the stress of shelter life and who will go slow as she acclimates to her furever family. Sheโll likely benefit from having a calm, confident dog who can model appropriate behavior and help her build trust in her new home. Please ask to meet this special girl today!
