About Maximus
Meet Maximus, or Max for short. This senior Doberman is looking for a peaceful, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years. At 9, he still has a bit of energy for backyard strolls, but his favorite spot is stretched out on the couch, quietly keeping an eye on things or napping close to his person. Max has a gentle, wise presence and a slightly mischievous streak—he might steal a snack if you're distracted, but his sweet face makes it hard to hold a grudge. Max has overcome real hardship. He suffered a chemical burn down his spine but has healed with care and patience. His scars are fading, and his hair is growing back. Through it all, his affectionate and loyal spirit remains. Max feels safest around women and must be the only animal in the home—no men, dogs, or cats, please. He’s happiest absorbing all the attention he missed out on for so long. He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and house trained. Max is currently fostered in Sugar Land, TX, but transport is available for approved adopters. He wants nothing more than a calm, caring home to finally settle in and be adored. Your new best friend is just one click away.
