About Spencer
Spencer came to rescue after what appears to have been a rough past, showing signs of both neglect and potential abuse. When he first landed in foster care, he was on edge and wary of humansāflinching when approached and keeping his distance for weeks. Over time, his foster reports that Spencer gradually learned to trust and started to come when called, seeking gentle attention and showing real sweetness once he feels safe. If you give him space and move slowly, Spencerās kind side emerges. He is quiet, minds his own business, and gets along well with other dogs; cats donāt faze him either. Spencer is not suited for homes with young children, since fast movements or grabbing can frighten him and lead to defensive behavior if cornered. He prefers flight over confrontation but could bite if overwhelmed. Heās crate trained and sees his crate as a safe retreat. At about a year and ten months old, heās healthy (recent vetting confirms it), up to date on vet care and prevention, and currently weighs around 15.46 pounds. Spencer would thrive in a low-key, patient adult home where boundaries are respected and where slow trust-building is welcomed. Heās ready for a quiet, understanding adopter to help him move on from his hard start. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
