Bailey Bob
AvailableBailey Bob is a small, adult male Shih Tzu in Houston, TX. He displays a gorgeous blend of black and white/cream coloring. He is best suited for an adult-only home, tolerant of both cats and dogs that respect his space.
About Bailey Bob
Bailey Bob is a 13 lb Shih Tzu with a lot of heart and some challenges. He’s around five years old, rescued from a tough situation in south Texas, and has lost his vision due to a neurological injury—sometimes he still walks in circles. Despite this, Bailey Bob has warmed up to new people: he's affectionate with those he trusts, like his foster dad and a pair of regular pet sitters. He's got a real affinity for sunshine and music, and he always lights up for toys. He manages decently with potty pads but does best outside. Because he marks, a belly band helps—he responds to correction. Bailey Bob doesn’t walk on a leash and isn’t a fit for apartment life due to his vocal personality. He’s happiest as an only dog or with a dog who gives him space, and his adopter will need to be in an adult-only household. While he gets along with cats and with dogs who aren’t intrusive, he’s not suited for homes with children. He’s waiting for a special person who understands the routine needs of a dog like him, and his adoption fee is waived for the right fit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Bailey Bob
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Shih Tzus like Bailey Bob generally do best in calm, stable households with attentive owners. Due to Bailey's vision loss and his tendency to vocalize, a quiet adult-only home with predictable routines would suit him most.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Bailey Bob, being a small Shih Tzu, doesn't need a large yard, but secure access to an outdoor space for bathroom breaks is important—especially since he does better outdoors than on pads.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Generally, Shih Tzus are gentle, but Bailey Bob is not suitable for homes with children due to his special needs and comfort around adults.
