About Valentino
Meet Valentino––also known as Val––a dog with many names and a heart to match. He was rescued from a massive multi-dog hoarding situation in OKC, where he and a dozen others had little hope and even less human trust. Valentino arrived deeply traumatized and terrified; the world was not kind to him. Gradually, with patient trainers and time, he started to open up. These days he seeks out pets from people he trusts and thrives around his canine companions. Valentino is house and kennel trained. He’s happiest in the company of other dogs, who give him confidence, so a home with a steady, social dog is best. He also does great with cats. Kids are okay if they’re older and understand that patience is non-negotiable; Valentino is still figuring out how to communicate with people, so gentle, calm interactions make all the difference. If you’re interested, several meet-and-greets in his foster home will help Valentino feel safe and let you see how the fit works—for you, your family, and any resident dog. Give this guy a second chance and he’ll repay you in quiet affection. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Valentino

Valentino, being an American Bulldog mix, is best suited for a stable, loving home with access to plenty of companionship and routine. A home with another dog would help him thrive, especially considering his background and confidence-boosting experiences.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
American Bulldog mixes like Valentino appreciate regular walks and room to play but don’t require a huge yard as long as they get out frequently for exercise and stimulation.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Valentino can do well with older, patient children who understand his need for space and gentle interaction, which is typical for American Bulldog mixes who may be wary due to past trauma.
