About Dow

Start your journey together! Apply now. If you’re searching for a dog who truly captures everything to love about our four-legged friends, look no further. Dow is a sweet, playful, and goofy bundle of happiness, always radiating pure joy with his cheerful spirit. His uplifting nature makes him a favorite among everyone he meets. Dow’s resilience is as remarkable as his personality. Now about 5-6 months old, he faced a tough start in life, arriving at a local shelter as a very young pup suffering from severe seizures, possibly from head trauma or exposure to toxins. Thanks to rapid emergency care and a loving foster home, those seizures have not returned, and he’s since been given a clean bill of health including comprehensive vet exams, bloodwork, and preventive care. This little survivor does have some quirks from his early days—he is blind or mostly blind in his right eye and moves with an adorable, high-stepping gait in his back legs, making him even more endearing. He has continued to thrive in foster care and his ever-growing ears only add to his overall cuteness! Dow is a unique mix, resembling a pit bull head on a basset body, getting longer rather than taller as he grows. He loves people and dogs, and has lived with cats in foster care—he’ll just need slow introductions. Like any playful puppy, he’s curious and can sometimes want to chase as part of his fun-loving antics. Dow is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventative veterinary care. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
