About Pepper
Pepper is a two-year-old female Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler with a quirky, lovable nature and an unmistakable spark. She started life on the streets of Texas and came into rescue already pregnant, raising her litter until they found homes of their own. As she settled into her foster in Oregon, it became clear Pepper needed some time to let her guard down. She still finds garbage trucks and strangers intimidating, but gradual confidence is coming with the right support. Pepper is looking for a quiet home—no young kids, no other pets—where her adopter understands cattle dog quirks and can keep up her progress with patience and positive reinforcement. She’s clever, gentle, and wants to feel safe. It’s also important to mention that Pepper has Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) in both of her rear ankles, which means she needs ongoing physical therapy and pain management. She’s content relaxing at home, enjoys car rides, and will be a loyal companion for anyone who appreciates a couch buddy as much as an adventure partner. Once she settles in, Pepper will show her affectionate side, offering plenty of happy licks and soaking up belly rubs. She does get along with cats but not with other dogs. Pepper is spayed, vaccinated, house trained, and ready for someone who will help her write a gentle, loving new chapter. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
