About Millie

Meet Millie. Millie’s had a rough start, but you wouldn’t know it from the way she keeps pushing forward. She was first spotted with her siblings as a puppy out in the country, then later turned up injured and dragging her back legs. After months in the care of an elderly neighbor, she finally made it to town for medical help, but by the time she saw a vet, the damage was permanent and nothing more could be done. That hasn’t held her back. Millie moves in a crouch, goes potty outside on her own, and doesn’t let her differences bother her one bit. She’s about 10 months old, probably a Corgi/Shiba Inu mix, maybe with some Australian Shepherd too, and weighs around 26 lbs. Her tan coat is unbelievably soft. Millie is quite shy at first and needs a couple of weeks to get comfortable with new people, but once she settles in, she’s a gentle and resilient companion. She does well with other dogs, gets along with cats, enjoys canine playmates, and is both kennel trained and house trained. Millie needs a fenced backyard for her safety. She’s current on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. Millie’s also undergoing treatment for heartworm. She is cared for in a foster home in Arkansas but can be transported to other states for the right adopter (with an extra fee for transport). As a Pisces, Millie carries that classic gentle spirit—empathetic, quietly tough, and worth every bit of patience. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
