Bruce Iii has mastered the art of sleeping in—he’ll happily let you stay in bed until 9 am on weekends. His mornings start with a gentle nudge for ear scratches and a good belly rub. Most of the time, Bruce’s energy sits at a moderate level, though he does break into wild zoomies when the mood strikes. He prefers company, especially other dogs, who really help him feel confident. Acting as the self-appointed Security Chief, Bruce watches over what’s happening outside and makes good use of the doggie door to do his backyard rounds. Leash walks are still a work in progress, but he’s housebroken and feels safe in his crate when his foster mom is out. Bruce came in skinny and wary of new people and loud noises, so he does best with someone patient and gentle. Once he feels at home, Bruce will trail after you and even curl up with you for a snuggle. He’s comfortable in the crate for several hours at a time and likes to sleep at the foot of the bed. He’s finished his heartworm treatment and is ready for his next chapter. Bruce gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children, and is looking forward to finding someone who’ll let him settle in at his own pace. Your new best friend is just one click away.
