About Lorelei
Lorelei's past wasn't easy. She was abandoned with two other females and left to fend for herself, bringing litter after litter into the world until rescue finally arrived. Now, at about 3 or 4 years old, Lorelei is getting her first taste of comfort and stability in a foster home in Pflugerville. She stands out as a gentle soul, always deferential with other dogs and happiest with a group. She runs, plays, and then settles in for long moments lounging in the sun, sometimes just rolling around in the grass for the sheer enjoyment of it. Watch her trot around and youāll notice her fluffy hindquarters and a cautious but hopeful air. Sheās still learning to trustāhumans and indoor life are new to herābut every week brings small victories. Donāt expect a dog whoās immediately outgoing; instead, you get to witness her transformation firsthand. She is house trained, has never had an accident, and prefers having a quiet area of her own indoors. She finds confidence in her canine friends, so a home with another well-adjusted dog would work wonders for her. A secure fenced yard is necessary; she loves being outside and isnāt leash trained yet, so patience and gentle encouragement will help her progress. Sometimes, she needs a little nudge to come back inside, but she's improving steadily. Meals are sometimes a bit of a puzzleāoccasionally she needs wet food added to her kibble. Sheās undergoing heartworm treatment and will need a follow-up ProHeart injection in 2026. Toys are still a curiosity for her, but with time, sheāll figure out what all the fuss is about. Lorelei is for someone who appreciates the slow, rewarding process of earning an animalās trust. Give her space, kindness, and time to decompress, and sheāll show you just how gentle and devoted she can be. Start your journey together! Apply now.
