About Lorelei
This girl’s journey started in heartbreaking circumstances—but she’s slowly discovering what safety, love, and comfort feel like. Lorelei was dumped in Cedar Creek alongside two other adult female dogs. The group continued to have litter after litter until JJP stepped in and changed the course of her life. While she’s still learning what it means to be a house dog, she has already come so far and continues to blossom every day. She is estimated to be 3-4yrs old. 🏡 Foster Life & Dog Social Skills: She’s currently in a foster home in Pflugerville, where she plays with other dogs daily and does wonderfully in a group setting. She’s a submissive, gentle girl who is great at initiating play appropriately and reading other dogs’ cues. She loves to run, join in with the pack, and be part of the action—but she also enjoys quiet moments lounging in the grass, sunbathing, and taking in the world. 💕 Personality: She is incredibly sweet and soft-natured. She can still be nervous at times, so decompression and slow acclimation are key to setting her up for long-term success. When she’s comfortable, she’ll come over for pets, roll onto her back for belly rubs, and—when she’s really happy—roll around joyfully in the grass. And yes… she has the fluffiest booty and an adorable little strut when she walks. It’s impossible not to smile watching her move around. 🐶 Home Life & Training: Potty trained and has never had an accident in foster care Not yet leash trained, so a secure, fenced yard is a must Loves being outside and may sometimes wander the yard instead of coming right back inside—she just enjoys fresh air and space Occasionally needs gentle corralling to come back in, but she’s improving every day Inside the house, she does best when she has her own safe space. Her foster mom allows her to free roam in a spare room where she has an open crate, and she chooses to rest there when she wants quiet time. She tends to feel more confident outdoors, where the open space helps her relax. 🍽️ Food & Health: May need wet food added to kibble to encourage eating Previously heartworm positive, now undergoing treatment via the slow-kill method Will need another ProHeart injection around June 2026 🌱 Still Learning: This sweet girl is still learning what toys are and how to play with them—she’ll occasionally explore them with curiosity, likely because she’s never lived in a home before foster care. Watching her discover new “dog things” has been incredibly rewarding. 🏡 Ideal Home: A patient, understanding adopter who will allow her to decompress at her own pace A secure, fenced yard where she can run, lounge, and feel safe Another friendly, well-balanced dog would be a great confidence boost. She’s more comfortable around dogs than people. Someone who finds joy in watching a dog slowly learn how good life can be She may be quiet at first, but once she trusts you, she’ll show you just how gentle, loving, and special she truly is. To schedule a meet and greet, please send an inquiry and fill out an adoption application, which can be easily found at www.jackjackspack.org/adopt Once your application has been approved, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a phone interview and a meet-and-greet. This process can take up to 10 days as we are volunteer run. Please keep in mind that we select the best-qualified applicants based on the needs of both the dog and the applicant.
