About Martha

Martha started out wary of people, shaped by years used for breeding, but with steady patience she's finally figured out what a good life looks like. Now, she's ready for a home where cuddles, calm company, and a soft bed are part of the daily routine. Martha is a true couch potato, happiest pressed up against her person and always up for a snuggle—especially if she can steal half the bed or splay out across a recliner. Getting affection is at the top of her list, and she’ll lean in for hugs and kisses whenever she can. She lives with several younger dogs now and prefers time with her more gentle foster siblings, especially Jane—who is likely her daughter. In a quieter home or one without a pack of energetic dogs, Martha would probably come out of her shell even more. She truly lights up around kids and cats and has a gentle, steady way about her even given her bigger size (she’s a 50+ lb mountain cur hound mix with Mastiff in the blend). Martha is house trained and uses a doggy door, so she benefits from having a good fenced yard. She’ll need a refresher with leash walks, but she’s already crate trained and good manners come naturally to her.
