About Martha

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! After a life spent being used for breeding, Martha arrived at HERO fearful and lacking in confidence. Months of compassion and patience have transformed her into a loving, devoted companion who is now ready to experience the good life in a warm home of her own. Martha is happiest as a gentle couch potato—at 60-65 lbs and about 7-8 years old, she’s a big sweetheart who wants nothing more than cuddles and to be close to her person, often stretching out beside you on the couch or snuggling in bed, taking up as much room as she can! Martha’s favorite activities are basking in affection, snuggling, and soaking up all the kisses and hugs she can get. While she does enjoy gentle playtime with her older foster siblings, Martha can be a little overwhelmed by too many energetic dogs, preferring a calmer environment where she can truly relax. She has a special bond with Jane, who may be her daughter, and both are known for their sweet interactions. Both Martha and Jane are friendly with kids and cats, and are described as gentle giants who enjoy nothing more than being loved. Fully housetrained and crate trained, Martha is accustomed to using a doggy door and enjoys having a fenced yard. She might need a little support with leash training, but her gentle nature shines through in all she does. If you’re searching for a loyal, affectionate soul who wants nothing more than your love, Martha could be the perfect addition—especially if you can welcome Jane too, though finding a loving home for Martha is the priority. Located in East TN, Martha’s transport can be arranged for the perfect family. If you're ready for an endlessly loving companion, this gentle soul is waiting to meet you. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?
