Heron stands out with a big, welcoming personality. From the moment he entered the room, he greeted everyone as if they were old friends, complete with enthusiastic tail wags. This charming lad isn’t just a friendly face; he’s quite the clever pup too. He has mastered several commands like sit, down, stay, shake, and roll over, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to connect. When he isn’t displaying his smarts, you can find him enjoying playtime with toys or sinking into a soft dog bed. Heron craves the warmth and routine of a loving home, having come to us as a stray on Christmas Day. He is ready to find his forever family, eager to share his big heart. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis, but please arrive before 5:30pm if you’re looking to adopt the same day. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.
