Meet Carolina Carolina came to us in early October through our TNR program, and she quickly stood out. She was the only nursing mama in her colony, and it was clear right away that she wasn't feral—just frightened by sudden change. Carolina had been cared for by an elderly caregiver who did her very best to look after the colony, and Carolina had known kindness before. When four tiny, fragile kittens were found in desperate need of their mother, we knew Carolina was theirs. Reuniting them was a beautiful moment, and Carolina proved to be a devoted, loving mom. Her charming kittens have all since thrived, transported, and found loving homes of their own. Carolina is still waiting for her happy ending. She has a condition called eosinophilic granuloma, which is easily managed with an occasional steroid injection to help reduce inflammation. It does not define her, but it is something her future adopter should be aware of. Carolina is a bashful, gentle soul who truly shines in calm, quiet environments. A home without children would be ideal for her. She could do well as an only cat or alongside other calm, respectful cats. What she needs most is a patient adopter—someone willing to give her time, space, and understanding as she learns she is safe. With patience and love, Carolina will blossom into the beautiful companion she's meant to be. She's already proven her strength, her devotion, and her heart. Now she just needs someone to believe in her. All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
