Introducing Jacque, a delightful blend of Border Collie and Australian Shepherd, weighing in at a solid 65 pounds and around 3 years young! 🌟 Jacque's journey hasn't been easy; this sweet pup was once at a shelter, unable to walk and facing the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia. But oh, how the universe had other plans! ✨💖 Thanks to a rescue that saw potential in him, Jacque was pulled to safety, and he's been on an inspiring journey of recovery ever since. When Jacque arrived at his temporary home, he needed a little extra care. Our brave boy faced some serious challenges: a pelvic fracture that was healing on its own and a tear in his Cranial Cruciate Ligament—also known as the ACL in humans. With the help of a dedicated vet in Austin, he underwent a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery. 🏥 Now he's learning to stand on his own and takes little jingly steps on his ‘good’ leg, showing just how determined he is to recover! His nights may be a bit tricky, but his loving foster is making all the necessary adjustments to ensure he’s comfortable. Soft pillows, a fan blowing gently, and, of course, a good dose of peanut butter (because who doesn't love that?) are Jacque’s favorite comforts! 🥜 And let’s not forget his charming habit of leaning into you with his head nestled in your lap. Talk about a cuddle buddy! 🤗 Jacque will need several weeks for post-operative care and recuperation, but when he’s ready, he will be an absolutely loving companion.
