Radish is a young, medium-sized, mixed breed Border Collie living in Columbia, MO. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is house trained. Radish does well with other dogs and prefers a calm, patient household as he continues to gain confidence.

About Radish

Radish is crate trained and truly finds comfort in his little den. He’s never had an accident indoors—completely potty trained from the start. Radish can be shy with new faces, but lately he’s getting braver, offering glimpses of his sweet personality as he settles in. He knows how to sit and lay down, and is working on come, stay, and leave it. While he warms up slowly, patience is rewarded with his trust. He’s learning that life doesn’t have to be so overwhelming, coming from a home packed with other dogs. Once he feels secure, Radish enjoys cuddling and will start giving kisses. Toys are a new pleasure for him—he loves tossing them in the air and swinging his favorites back and forth, especially the chew toys. Radish has not yet met cats or children, but he is comfortable and does well with other dogs. He would do best with adopters willing to give him the time he needs to build confidence. This dog is eligible for the Black Dog Friday promotion this December: if you adopt Radish, you'll get a free etiquette class in January. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Radish, being a mixed breed Border Collie, will thrive in an environment that is calm and patient but also allows for some play and activity. A home with space to move and consistent routines would help him build confidence.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

As a Border Collie mix, Radish would appreciate a backyard or regular access to an outdoor area for play and exercise but can adapt to walks and interactive play if space is limited.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Border Collie mixes like Radish can do well with children if they are gentle and respectful, but given Radish's shy nature, a home with older children or adults who understand his needs would be ideal.
