My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Peace Academy. This is a program for dogs to learn advanced skills to manage their energy. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I'm a lovable goofy boy who loves all kinds of toys! - During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs. - I was born in a shelter and have not yet lived in a home, so I will need patient adopters who are prepared to help me learn how to live in a home! - I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. My home needs are: - I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. - I need a home with kids 10 years old and older who will enjoy my enthusiasm for life! - A fenced yard is a must for me! I need a secure area to run around and release my energy. - It's recommended I go to an active home. For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags. Hey, I’m Jake! I’ve got a big personality, a playful heart, and a love for life. I’m still learning what it means to live in a home, so I’m looking for a kind and patient adopter who’s ready to help me settle in and show me the ropes. My favorite thing in the whole world is playing with other dogs! Seriously, nothing makes me happier than a good game of chase or a friendly wrestle session. Because of that, it's recommended that I go home with another dog who can be my playmate and role model. I gain confidence and learn so much from my canine friends. I can self-entertain when needed (especially if I have some toys around), but I also enjoy being near my people. Once I’m comfortable, I can be super snuggly and affectionate. I believe there is nothing better than a good cuddle after some fun playtime. At first, I might be a little unsure in new situations, but give me some time and love, and I’ll show you what a loyal, loving pup I can be. Because I’m still learning all about life in a home, a fenced yard would be a big help for me! A fence would give me a safe space to explore, run, and get my wiggles out while I build confidence. I’ll thrive best in a home that’s understanding, active, and willing to give me the gentle guidance I need to grow into the amazing companion I’m meant to be.
