About Sweet Pea
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Sweet Pea is a 6-month-old Boxer puppy who truly lives up to her name. She is the embodiment of innocence, gentleness, and sweetness that will win your heart instantly. Rescued from a puppy mill where she remained unsold, Sweet Pea now has a new chance at life and is looking for a loving home ready to provide patience and joy. Sweet Pea was diagnosed with hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), confirmed by both a veterinary neurologist and MRI. Despite this medical challenge, she is every bit the silly, adorable, and loyal Boxer puppy—her playful spirit and loving personality shine through in everything she does. She is learning all the basics: sleeping quietly through the night in her crate, working on appropriate chewing, and making progress with potty training. She loves her toys, is enthusiastic about treats, and entertains with her classic Boxer puppy antics—including playful shoe thievery! Potty training can be trickier for hydrocephalus pups, so Sweet Pea may need more frequent potty breaks and shouldn’t be left alone for a full workday. She thrives in a home where someone is there to let her out regularly. Sweet Pea delights in playing with other dogs—her ideal canine companion would be tolerant of puppy energy and the Boxer pounce. She’s gentle and curious around cats, too. Her diagnosis means there are a few unknowns for her future. While she may live a perfectly normal, happy life, her family should be prepared for changing medical needs and attentive to her health. Right now, her affordable daily medication keeps her happy and is easily given with cheese, her favorite treat. Sweet Pea’s adoption includes her MRI, scheduled spay, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. All she needs now is a forever family ready to love her just as she is—someone who will cherish her joy, courage, and boundless affection. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
