About Calzone

Calzone, or Cal if you like things casual, showed up as a stray and never had anyone come claim him. When he arrived, part of his coat had been shaved in a patchy way—no one knows why, and it left him looking a little lopsided for a while. The good news is he’s healthy and one of the friendliest boys you’ll meet. Cal is about five years old and weighs roughly 60lbs. He’s thought to be a mix of Boxer, Shepherd, and Hound, with a brindle and red coat showing signs of a medium length when fully grown in. He’s polite and already knows his basic commands—sit, say please, give paw, and lay down. Cal is happiest lounging with his people or going on walks, and will happily join you for cuddle time. If left alone too long, his hound roots come out and he may serenade the house for a bit, just to remind you he’s still around. It doesn’t last long. At the rescue, he’s been non-reactive around other dogs and, while he hasn’t met the cats yet, there’s confidence he’ll do fine after an introduction. He’s sweet-natured, gentle, and just waiting for someone to call him their own. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
