About Gracie

Meet Gracie. When Gracie first arrived with her sister, both were terrified—too scared to move or make eye contact. Where they came from isn’t fully known, but the fear they brought with them was obvious. Since then, Gracie has made steady progress; her sister was adopted and is doing well, and now it’s Gracie’s turn. Gracie is a young hound mix, about two and a half years old, with a short, golden and cream coat. She’s medium-sized and gentle, her uncertainty clear in her eyes, but she puts in the effort every day to trust humans again. A dedicated volunteer has helped Gracie find a bit of confidence. She ventures into the yard now, soaking up sun and rolling in the grass. She’s still shy but leans towards sweetness and submission, never showing aggression even in her most fearful moments. Gracie is learning basic skills like leash walking and could benefit from a yard with a secure fence. She’d likely gain even more confidence from living with another calm dog, and older kids or an adult working from home would suit her best. The right person will be quiet, patient, and gentle—willing to help her build on the progress she’s made. Gracie bonds deeply and, for the right family, will be a once-in-a-lifetime companion. Born in early October, Gracie is a Libra—a sign known for gentleness and a longing for harmony. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
