About Poppy
Poppy is a charming young girl at around 40 pounds, who has already faced great challenges in her short life. Rescued from a hoarding situation alongside more than 15 dogs, she has a resilient spirit and maintains a cheerful attitude. Although she currently has a bit of fear towards new people, it just takes some patience for her to warm up and trust her new adopter over a few weeks. Poppy enjoys the company of other dogs, especially her friend Daisy, but she’s currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Thankfully, she’s in her second month and is doing well. Though she’s not familiar with many commands, she picks up on new things quickly and is already house trained. Mental stimulation and regular exercise will help with her chewing habit. Ideally, she’ll need to be crate trained until she outgrows this phase. Poppy has a big appetite for both food and treats. Living in boarding right now, she’s looking for a loving home where she can lay her head. She could thrive in a home with Daisy, or another dog could help boost her confidence. Due to her adventurous nature, a 6-foot privacy fence is a must since she tends to climb. Click apply to start the adoption process!
