Meet Victoria… A Gentle Soul Looking for a Second Chance Victoria came into our shelter recently with her canine friend, who had been struck by a car. Thankfully, both are now safe in our care. While her buddy heals, we're hoping to help Victoria begin a brand-new chapter of her own. This sweet girl is definitely a bit older, with a soft gray muzzle that tells the story of the life she's lived. Right now, Victoria isn't quite sure what to make of shelter life~~ she often barks at us, and she's always glancing over her shoulder as if she's never quite known what to expect from people. We don't know if she's ever had a kind hand or a gentle home, but we do know she lets us leash her up, and she spends most of her time curled up in a little ball on her bed, trying to feel safe. Victoria came in with another dog, so we believe she is dog-friendly! She has not been cat-tested yet What she needs most is a quiet, patient home where she can decompress and finally learn what love looks like. Once she feels secure, we know her true colors will shine — she just needs someone willing to give her that chance. She keeps her kennel clean, she's overlooked because she's "just another black pit bull," and she's stuck in an overcrowded shelter through no fault of her own.
