This 8 year old chill dude has had a rough past, but he doesn't let that stop him from being a great companion. Bobby came to rescue thanks to some local people helping out a outdoor colony situation, and Bobby was friendly enough to not warrant being returned to the colony. After the initial wariness of a new place, Bobby has settled in great at his foster home. Bobby enjoys lounging on his foster mom's bed and staring out the window at the wildlife outside. Bobby has tested FIV+ (feline immunodeficiency virus). There are a lot of myths about FIV+ cats, but they can live long and normal lives. It is very important though that they are always brought in for annual exams and are indoor only cats. There is no concern with being around dogs either. Bobby is good with other cats and has lived with negative cats in his foster home. FIV is spread through deep bite wounds. New Leash Rescue also has multiple other FIV+ kitties that would male amazing companions for Bobby. This handsome boy would love to be your companion! As part of the adoption process, vet references will be checked on past/current pets looking for history of routine exams, DHPP/FDRC and rabies vaccines. Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
