About Maggie Mae Va

Maggie Mae is a senior Bullmastiff with a brindle coat who’s seen her share of life. At over 7 years old, she's got some early cataracts and most of her teeth are broken, but her health is fairly solid otherwise. Maggie started out as a stray in Georgia, making her way to Virginia for a well-earned rest. She’s bonded tightly with her foster family and has become a classic “velcro dog”—she wants to be wherever you are, whether that’s curled up on the couch or sleeping nearby. Maggie struggles when left alone and requires an escape-proof crate when you’re not home. She much prefers direct company and has a habit of following her person from room to room. She’s not fully house trained yet but will tell you when she needs to go out, preferring a fenced yard or someone willing to stay with her on a training leash. Maggie’s comfortable with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and pays little attention to cats. She’s great on leash, isn’t food aggressive, rides calmly in the car, and doesn’t find treats motivating in her crate. She can be wary of men initially, but warms up after some time. Maggie’s best suited to someone who’s usually home and wants a deeply devoted companion. She currently lives in Culpeper, Virginia. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
