About Blizzard
Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Meet Blizzard, an enchanting 7-month-old Sheltie with an incredible zest for life and a heart full of love! Born deaf and partially blind due to her double merle coloring, this beautiful girl doesn't let anything slow her down—she’s a bundle of energy, exuding playfulness and a spark for adventure. She’s always up for exploring new surroundings and cherishes every moment spent romping with her canine pals. Blizzard is a snuggly lap companion at heart, thriving on cuddles, warmth, and affection. She’s fantastic with other dogs and would flourish with a playful four-legged sibling. She loves expressing herself—get ready for a pup who’s not afraid to be vocal! As a young dog, she’s eagerly learning puppy manners and is almost fully house trained, though occasional accidents may still happen as she continues to grow. This lively girl will do best in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard and a devoted human who can be home with her much of the time. To help her feel comfortable, she should be in a child-free (under 12) home, with plenty of opportunities for affection and safe exploration. As a bonus, her adoption includes a complimentary virtual training session with Deb Bauer from "Your Inner Dog"! Blizzard is currently being fostered in Kearneysville, WV; a home visit and application are required to meet her in person. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Blizzard
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Shetland Sheepdogs, or Shelties, thrive in environments where they have plenty of mental stimulation and companionship. They do well in both houses with yards and apartments if their exercise needs are consistently met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Shelties enjoy having space to run and play, so a secure, fenced-in yard is ideal. However, they can adapt to smaller spaces as long as they receive daily walks and active playtime.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Shetland Sheepdogs are generally gentle and make good family pets, especially with respectful children. They do best in homes where children understand how to interact calmly and kindly with dogs.
