Slurpee is a Black Labrador Retriever with a classic black coat, currently living in Decatur, GA. He's an adult male, about 2 years and 3 months old, and has been neutered, with his vaccinations up to date. He gets along with other dogs but would do best in an adult-only home.

About Slurpee

Slurpee is a young Black Labrador Retriever, born in late January 2024β€”a true Aquarius, independent and a bit quirky. He's looking for a committed adult-only home where his adopter is ready to support him and continue his training journey. Slurpee has experience living with other dogs, and gets along well with them, but people can be more complicated: he's loyal to a fault and has been known to zealously guard his primary person, particularly around strangers and visitors, which led to his return to the rescue. At PAWS Atlanta, trainer MarLee has been working directly with him, helping Slurpee work through his stranger-danger tendencies and teach him safer ways to cope. The training plan will extend freely to his future foster or adopter, to make the transition as smooth as possible. He's still figuring it all out, but there's real hope he'll thrive in the right hands. Fostering is encouraged so you and Slurpee (with MarLee's support) can get comfortable and see if the fit works both ways. If you want a loyal young dog who learns and bonds deeply, and are up for a bit of teamwork, Slurpee might be your match. Your new best friend is just one click away.
