About Nova
A foster-to-adopt arrangement is available for Nova, so you have the chance to get acquainted before making a commitment. Nova’s life has been a wild ride—from sandy shores in Puerto Rico to Cumming, GA, and now she’s looking for her final family. At 5 years old, this black Lab/Staffy mix radiates warmth and fun. She previously lived with a loving owner who, due to relocation, had to return her. Now she’s back and waiting for another shot. Nova is house trained, food-motivated, and lives for active days—she’s happiest joining a daily jog. She’s been working with a trainer and is making strides in leash manners, recall, and base commands, with the promise of picking up more if treats are involved. Nova enjoys the company of dogs her own size and energy, especially if there’s a fenced yard where she can chase after backyard "lizards" to her heart’s content. Due to her prey drive, Nova isn’t suited for homes with cats. She’d do best in an adult-only household where calm and routine help her shine. Time with volunteers is all about belly rubs and soaking up attention. Nova is loyal, affectionate, and ready for a real second chance. Could you be her person? Ready to meet your new best friend?
