About Luca

Luca is a mindful, playful shepherd/terrier mix looking for a place where he can finally settle in. At around one year old and about 46 pounds, he's adjusting to life in Washington, DC after his rescue from Puerto Rico. He’s proven himself gentle in the house—no chewing on shoes or household items, just focused on his toys or surveying the world from a favorite window. His foster notes he sleeps through the night and is eager to play. Luca thrives with other dogs, whether making friends at the park or playing in the yard, and does best when he has canine company or regular dog socialization. He’s working on his crate training and housetraining, so patience and a little structure go a long way. While wonderfully affectionate and loving, he isn’t recommended for a home with kids. Luca’s looking for someone ready to invest the time and energy to help him feel secure and loved in a home of his own. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
