Sunnie Bean is looking to brighten your life with his sweet, silly soul! Sunnie has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH.) At this point he would be classified as severe as he cannot walk or stand on his own without falling over, but don’t let that fool you he is a mover and a shaker! His muscles get stronger every day and with continued (at home) physical therapy it is possible Sunnie could learn to climb and possibly stand. For now he will fling himself into your lap or flip flop to wherever his little heart desires. He can use a litter box and eats well, but does best with assistance at this time. Most cats with CH develop a bit slower, so even though the CH diagnosis will not change, there are aspects of his development that may manifest in improvement in motor skills as he ages. He loves adventures in his kitty backpack or sling. He also likes to be held to see what he is missing up high and is frequently seen hanging out in the pocket of a sweatshirt made just for cats. When he’s not adventuring Sunnie needs lots of safe, padded space to practice his fan-flipping-tastic dance moves. When he is extra excited his back legs become springs and he can jump astonishingly high! Sunnie needs lots of enrichment - toy rotation and interesting things to explore daily. He would do great with someone who is home much of the time and wants to bring their cat companion on outings. He has travelled a lot with his foster family and loves it - sleeping peacefully in his backpack during the car ride. Sunnie’s forever place will need to have his safety as a top priority. He gets along with other nice cats and would do well with a friendly cat companion. After slow, methodical introductions he would probably do fine with a low-key dog that can ignore his erratic movements. Sunnie Bean is looking for a very special, experienced home that can give him the kind of dedicated care he deserves. The trust and affection he can offer you in return is not unlike the loyalty of a dog. Sunnie will count on his human unlike any other cat and the rewards of that bond will fill your heart abundantly!
