About Laney whouse
Laney Whouse is a survivor with a gentle soul, shaped by both hardship and small victories. She arrived at Sunny Bear Rescue deeply shaken by past abuse, so terrified at first that she wouldn’t eat or drink. With a patient, kennel-free environment and trauma-informed care, Laney has slowly discovered how to trust people again. Now, after over 250 days, she’s learned to come inside on her own terms, seeks out gentle affection from those who respect her boundaries, and draws comfort from the company of other dogs. Laney is a Labrador Retriever and Husky mix in a medium-sized, short, blond-tan coat. She thrives best with other calm, confident dogs and would do well with a secure, fenced yard and a dog door that lets her choose when she feels safe inside or out. In her new home, she'll bring her own custom dog house—a treasured symbol of security, gifted by The HOWS Project. Laney is house trained, microchipped, and fully vetted. Her growth has come from patience, not pressure, and she’s shown only wariness, never aggression. She gets along with cats and children, but her adopter must understand her special needs stemming from PTSD. Laney doesn’t need perfection—just someone ready to offer unconditional love and meet her where she is. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
