About October

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet October—also known as Toby! This lovely 6-year-old, 63 lb. Pittie/Boerboel mix girl is seeking a new, loving home as soon as possible. October is currently in a stressful and unsettled situation, but in the right, calm environment, she is expected to truly blossom. The ideal home for her would be one without any other animals and without young children under the age of 11, though she’s done well living with older kids before. October quickly endears herself to people with her sweet nature. She can be shy at first, but with patience, treats, and gentle attention, she’ll warm up and soon be your shadow. She adores cuddles and pets, enjoys hiking, engaging in “sniffaris,” and taking long walks outside. Tug is her favorite game, and her love of food is a great motivator when it comes to training! She’s mastered basic obedience, leash skills, and responds especially well to positive reinforcement. October has also trained in agility, parkour, and nosework—she can detect birch, anise, and clove essential oils. She knows pattern games, Look At That, emergency U-turns, and the “over” cue to move aside for passing on a trail. October would thrive with adopters committed to being her only dog, who are excited to continue her clicker training and maybe even explore more nosework activities together. Start your journey together! Apply now.
