About Sampson

Sampson lived through abandonment and mistreatment in the Sea Isle neighborhood just after the holidays. He struggled on his own for a while, finding scraps of food and makeshift shelters from kind folks. When Streetdog volunteers kept showing up with patience and snacks, Sampson slowly learned to trust again and let them help him. That’s when he got his new name—Sampson, meaning Sun Child. Now, safe and warm, he’s getting back on his feet. Sampson is around 3 years old, a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier and Great Dane, and is steadily working toward a healthy weight before beginning his heartworm care. His ears were cropped unevenly in his past, and he lost some hearing in one ear, but he’s proving that a tough history doesn’t harden the heart. He’s gentle, affectionate, friendly with other dogs, and loves to please. Sampson’s sun sign is Aquarius, often known for its resilience and unique charm. He’s looking forward to a future filled with comfort and kindness. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
