About Maxwell
Meet Maxwell, a resilient terrier mix who came to the rescue after being labeled a hospice case. He was diagnosed with a rare tick-borne disease, Hepatozoonosis, which can cause chronic issues, but thanks to attentive care, Maxwell is now considered in remission and ready to start his next chapter. Currently fostered with another male dog and two kids, Maxwell’s gentle and loving nature shines through daily. He’s friendly, good with children, and has a soft spot for couch naps and family walks. With his medium size and about 55 pounds, he’s settled into adulthood, house trained, and needs no extra leash or crate training. Maxwell loves to smile (yes, literally—it’s his signature move) and offers loyalty and affection in spades. His future family should understand he may require medication if his condition flares up, but otherwise, doctors are optimistic about his long, happy future. If you’re looking for a best friend who has already overcome the odds and has plenty of love to give, Maxwell may be the one. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
