About Rutger

Rutger is a gray and white, short-coated American Bully who has called the shelter home for too long. At around nine years old, he's living out his senior years hoping for a fresh start. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, Rutger came to City Dogs Cleveland in the summer of 2020 and successfully finished his heartworm treatment. He’s a big, easy-going dog—tipping the scales at eighty pounds and open to losing a bit of weight with the help of a dedicated adopter. Rutger prefers life outside of a crate and would thrive in a single-story house. He struggles with balance and takes daily medication for motion sickness. While he enjoys the company of some other dogs, he isn’t a fan of cats, so a cat-free home is best. Rutger has a gentle, friendly nature; belly rubs and good company make his day. He’s searching for a family willing to let him roam comfortably and share the companionship he’s been missing. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
