Loki is a 5 year and 9 month old neutered male Border Collie/mixed breed in Point Richmond, CA. He has a medium build and a striking white and black coat. Loki is vaccinated and does best in adult-only environments, especially in the countryside where he has room to roam. He does not get along with children but gets along with other dogs, preferring to be outdoors with a canine friend.

About Loki

Loki is a bright, lively boy who thrives in the company of canine friends. He loves running around outside and is happiest with a securely fenced yard where he can explore and play. Loki is pretty social with most dogs, especially after a thoughtful introduction, often choosing other males as his best buddies—though it's not a hard rule. At the sanctuary, he's got a goofy "love triangle" going with an old male Aussie and a young Great Pyrenees; they spend hours wrestling, chasing, and playing. Loki builds strong connections with both people and dogs when given time to settle in. He isn't quick to trust strangers, especially when it comes to handling or restraint, and takes a measured approach to new people—patience is key. Loki has an adventurous soul and can wander, but even when his recall isn't perfect, he tends to come back after roaming. Due to trauma, including a badly broken tail and spinal injury earlier in life, he prefers being handled on his terms. Physically, he's bounced back and now moves comfortably, but the experience shaped his boundaries. A rural or country setting, ideally with adults and at least one dog buddy, fits him best. Loki doesn't enjoy wearing a harness and is most comfortable living outdoors with access to shelter and companionship. He isn’t suited for homes with children. With his affectionate streak (he gives fantastic hugs!), Loki is ready to meet someone who understands his unique needs and independent spirit. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
