About Carlito

Carlito is a true survivor with a big heart. Found as a stray, he arrived on a neighbor’s doorstep barely hanging on, with serious wounds to his front leg and barely any strength left. After emergency care—including an amputation to save his life and being neutered—Carlito bounced back against all odds. He thrived in his new sanctuary home and didn’t waste any time settling in. This cat has been through more than most, but you’d never know it watching him scale cat trees or chase after his people for belly rubs. Carlito is the kind of cat other cats gravitate toward: He rarely meets a feline he doesn’t like, is always ready for a friendly grooming session, and finds comfort curled up with buddies. Even dogs are okay by him, as long as they know to give him space. He’s FIV positive—a fact that’s far less dramatic than people think and doesn’t stop him from living with other friendly cats. He also had a full dental cleaning, and he’s healthy, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and house trained. Despite everything, Carlito has stayed affectionate and hopeful. With his outgoing, loving personality and the resilience of a cat who’s seen it all, he’ll bring warmth and a sense of wonder to a quieter home where he doesn’t feel lost in the crowd.
